Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- Log in
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

I am fairly certain there is a Blizzard bug dealing with the combat log events stopping with pet summons. To date everyone that has had a bugged combat log can reproduce the issue consistently with no mods install at all, so it's not mod related.
As I also responded to k4non, I would suggest posting a bug report about it on Blizzard's bug report forum. Make sure you mention that it happens with no mods installed otherwise the first thing you'll be asked to do is disable them.
The more people that report the bug increases the chance Blizzard can track it down with the additional information.

Mikk saidMitzu/k4non:
If MSBT isn't throwing any errors and the damage reporting just stops, it's pretty likely your combat log is ceasing to report. I've seen some posts in the bug forums about where the combat log just stops reporting (not MSBT related at all).
Try turning MSBT off and doing the same series of steps that induces the issue. Look at the combat log and see if it's reporting. If that is indeed the case, try turning all of your mods off and repeat the test.

k4non saidYeah, you are right. My combat log is bugged, and it's not related with MSBT. I've tried to turn off all mods that i have, and when i summon my warlock pet, the combat log stops reporting.
I've tested my friends hunter here, and it gives the same problem when I summon his pet.
Did you have any clue on what should i do?
Thanks

Mikk saidI'm really not sure what causes it, but based on the number of times I've seen people mentioning various issues with damage calculation, all scrolling text type of mods, etc, I'm fairly certain it is a Blizzard bug.

Go to your interface options and turn on lua errors to see if you are getting any. If you are, please post them here. I've not had any problems in this regard when playing on my hunter.

spoodigity saidThanks for the great addon. I've been toying around with displays. I can't seem to exclude block and glancing blow messages.
I'd like to get a final damage like say "5" rather than "5 (15 blocked)". Is there any control over these that I'm overlooking?

Mikk saidLunatics:
No it's not possible. Mods are not allowed to get the location of 3D entities. Only the built-in Blizzard damage display is able to do that.
You can enable the "Game Damage" checkbox on the General tab and disable all of MSBT's output messages if you prefer.
That said, I have found that having damage output in a static location that shows regardless of whether I'm looking at the target and all the additional capabilities that comes with it far superior once you get used to it anyways.

lunatics saidIs there any way to make the text go specifically above your target/enemies head like the Blizzard SCT does? I really like having it directly over head, however the Blizzard SCT is so bad and I would love the features of MSBT to go with text above my enemies head.

cajunsky saidThanks Mikk,
I thought the trigger class was the class that triggers the notification.
As for making it clearer, you could probably just put it in the read me text or other in the example for making triggers.
I will make the changes to the notifcation.
BTW thanks for the great MOD!

Mikk saidCajunsky:
The trigger class is YOUR class (the one you are playing on) not the class of the enemy.
It exists so you can have different triggers depending on what class you are currently playing. So if you want to see it no matter which toon you are playing on, then set it to all classes. If you only want to see it when you are playing on your mage, set it to mage, and so on.
Would it be more clear if I were to rename it to Display Classes?

cajunsky saidI seem to not be able to get the notification that "blind" is broken or that "divine shield" is active.
I am able to get the notification that "sheeps" and "saps" are broken.
these are the triggers that I am using for blind and divine shield.
trigger class - rogue
Aura Removal
Recipient Unit Reaction - Is Equal To - Hostile
Skill Name - Is Equal To - Blind
trigger class - paladin
Aura Application
Recipient Unit Reaction - Is Equal To - Hostile
Skill Name - Is Equal To - Divine Shield
Any Ideas as to why i can't get these two notifications to show?
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately the build in XP display can't be disabled. I've requested Blizzard to add this option, but they haven't done so to date.
SwiftStryder:
Not really because if the addon is disabled, it never loads and if it doesn't load then it can't make modifications. I'll see about saving the default FCT settings and resetting them on logout which might have the effect you want.
I have not had any other reports of it being disabled when you get on a mount. Turn on Display Lua Errors in the Blizzard interface options and see if there are any errors being thrown. If there are, please post them.
RTListes:
It's not called Polymorph in the German client. I think it's Verwandlung in German.

RTListes saidHi,
I'd like to have a trigger which creates a message as soon as sheep has broken.
I have an example here, this was for an old version of Mik's, now, its not working anymore with the newest realease, furhtermore it doesent work with the old version either, I dont know why, maybe beacause I play with a German client?
this is the trigger for the version 5.1
["Custom1"] = {
["message"] = "Sheep Broken",
["fontSize"] = 26,
["colorG"] = 0,
["colorB"] = 0.7098039215686275,
["mainEvents"] = "DebuffFade[effect=Polymorph;;hostile=true;;unit=any]",
["alwaysSticky"] = true,
the triffer himself, does work, I've seen it in a video.
Could someone help me please?
